GW Overmatched by Tough American Squad
Hane Wins Only Match for Colonials

WASHINGTON, DC - The GW Men's Tennis team was unable to build on its strong performance against James Madison and fell to a tough American team, 6-1, on Saturday February 1 at the Montclair Tennis club, dropping their record to 2-3.
Junior Matt Hane (Walterboro, SC/Porter-Gaud School) picked up the lone victory for the Colonials by defeating Guilluame Tarrralle at the number one position, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-4. Freshman Marius Weigert (Hamburg, Germany/ESI International Academy) played his opponent, Ruben Rivero, down to the wire, but came up just short losing, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.
The doubles teams of Hane and junior Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) and sophomores Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) and Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) gave the American teams a run, but both lost, 9-7
The Colonials will look to get back on track against La Salle on Saturday, February 8 in Washington, DC.
