Men's Tennis Cruises Past Howard

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's tennis team, ranked No. 71 in the country, continued their 2008 spring schedule by defeating Howard, 7-0, in a home match Friday afternoon at the Regency Sport & Health Club in McLean, VA.

GW took the doubles point, winning all three matches, including a win from the No. 1 position, which featured Mustafa Gencsoy and Sam Salyer pairing up for an 8-2 victory. In the singles competition, the Colonials won all six matches. Gencsoy cruised from the No. 1 position, 6-2, 6-3, and freshman Yan Levinski improved to 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. The four other wins came from Sam Salyer, Erik Hannah, Elliott Daniels and Mark Doumba.

George Washington continues their 2008 schedule Saturday, Feb. 9, when they host UNC-Greensboro at 7:00 p.m., in McLean, VA.
