Men's Tennis Stops the Dukes, 5-2

PITTSBURGH, PA - George Washington men's tennis team collected their third Atlantic 10 victory on Sunday afternoon, when the Colonials defeated the Duquesne Dukes, 5-2. Both GW and Duquesne evened their season record to 4-4 in the spring season.
Junior Richard Blumenfeld was in both of the hot matches on the day. Blumenfeld, teamed up with freshman Viktor Svensson, secured the doubles point for the Colonials, defeating Aram Abgaryan and Mikhael Rasner, 8-5, at the No. 3 match.
The Colonials picked their play in singles action. Christopher Kushma won in straight sets at No. 3 singles over Rasner, 6-3, 6-2, as Hannah defeated Rubin, 7-5, 7-5, at the No. 4 match.
Blumenfeld battled in his No. 6 match, taking the first set 6-3, but fell in the second set 0-6 to Kyle O'Leary. The Colonial held off his opponent in the third set, winning 7-6(8-6), to secure the match at 4-1.
The Colonials continue Atlantic 10 play next weekend when the squad travels to take on Charlotte on Friday, Feb. 25, with a 2:00 p.m. match start time. GW stays in North Carolina to Elon on Saturday, Feb. 26, starting at 2:00 p.m.
