Men's Tennis Sweeps Temple, 7-0

Feb. 25, 2004

PHILADELPLHIA, PA - The George Washington men's tennis team continued to roll by defeating Temple, 7-0, on Friday, February 20. The Colonials had three players register two victories on the day with Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central), Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) and Daniel Balke (Portage, MI/Portage Northern) all winning singles and doubles matches.

GW will go for their sixth straight when they play Rutgers on Friday, February 27.

Singles:
1. Matt Hane (GW) def. Tyler Wynn (TU), 6-4, 6-1
2. Matt Treadgold (GW) def. Yhonny Murray (TU), 7-6(5), 6-2
3. Jake Jopling (GW) def. Matt Struble (TU), 6-3, 6-1
4. Will Timmons (GW) def. Jon Sy (TU), 6-2, 6-3
5. Brett Warner (GW) def. James Logan (TU), 6-4, 6-2
6. Daniel Balke (GW) def. Elad Ziu (TU), 7-5, 6-1

Doubles:
1. Hane/Jopling (GW) lost to Wynn/Murray (TU), 7-9
2. Treadgold/Balke (GW) def. Sy/Ziu (TU), 8-1
3. Warner/Daniels (GW) def. Struble/Logan (TU), 8-4
