ELON, NC - George Washington men's tennis dropped a 5-2 match Saturday to Elon at The Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

The Colonials' (5-5) freshman duo of Ulrik Thomsen and Viktor Svensson defeated Cody Stauffer-MacDowell and Thomas Darling, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.

Ugur Atalay and Erik Hannah fell to No. 56 Phillip Nemec and Chase Helpingstine, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles while Christopher Kushma and Alexander van Gils dropped an 8-4 match to Alberto Rojas and Cameron Silverman in No. 2 doubles to go down 1-0 early.

GW's two singles points came from a No. 5 victory by Thomsen over Alberto Rojas (6-4, 0-6, 6-3) and at No. 6 by Svensson, with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-8, win over Carlos Arboleda.

The Colonials dip back into play against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents on Saturday, March 5, when they travel to face Richmond starting at 2:00 p.m. GW continues on the road to take on VCU on Sunday, March 6, with matches set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
