Men's Tennis Sweeps Towson, 7-0

WASHINGTON, DC - The Colonials men's tennis team defeated Towson University, 7-0, Friday at GW's Mount Vernon Tennis Facility. With the victory, GW improved to 7-6 on the year. Freshman Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) returned to action after missing the last three matches with an injury. He defeated Towson's Dan Selzer, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) dominated the Tigers' Trey Ragase, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4 singles while teaming with Treadgold to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Senior Kinzie Wright (Seminole, FL/Thomas Howard Academy) was voted the team's Player of the Day after winning a tough decision at No. 5 singles, 6-7, 6-4, and a 10-8 tiebreaker to keep the Colonials undefeated on the day. Next up for the Colonials is a Saturday, March 9 match against Massachusetts at Amherst beginning at noon.
