Men's Tennis Sweeps Massachusetts, 7-0

AMHERST, MA - The Colonials men's tennis team defeated Massachusetts, 7-0, Saturday at Amherst, MA. With the victory, GW improved to 8-6 on the year while the Minutemen fell to 3-12. Freshman Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central), playing at No. 2 singles, defeated Todd Champeau, 6-4, 7-5 to improve his singles record to 9-1 on the season. Treadgold and teammate Kevin Wright (Seminole, FL/Thomas Howard Academy) lost, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles for GW's only setback on the day. Senior Kinzie Wright (Seminole, FL/Thomas Howard Academy) breezed at No. 5 singles defeating UMass's Eric Reblin, 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) dominated the Minutemen's Ted Greenberg, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 singles while teaming with Chris Moulton (Portland, ME/Brickhouse) to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-4. Next up for the Colonials is a Friday, Mar. 15 match against Howard at the GW-Mount Vernon Tennis Facility beginning at 4:00 p.m.
