Men's Tennis Sweeps Towson


March 22, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington men's tennis team swept Towson, 7-0, on Friday, March 19, to improve their record to 9-6. GW won all six singles and all three doubles matches. The Colonials had five players win both singles and doubles, while junior Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem) won his 12th straight singles match.

The Colonials will try to win their ninth match in their last 11 outings when they travel to Fredericksburg, VA to take on Mary Washington.

2. Matt Treadgold (GW) def. Ittai Dvir (T), 6-3, 6-3
3. Jake Jopling (GW) def. Doug Ferguson (T), 6-3, 6-2
4. Daniel Raisbeck (GW) def. Todd Nagle (T), 6-0, 6-2
5. Brett Warner (GW) def. Joel Young (T), 4-6, 6-4 (6)
6. Daniel Balke (GW) def. Grant Mayhew (T), 6-2, 6-1

Doubles:
1. Hane/Jopling (GW) def. Ferguson/Dvir (T), 8-2
2. Warner/Raisbeck (GW) def. Young/Mayhew (T), 8-2
