Men's Tennis Loses Second in a Row to Xavier, 4-3

PITTSBURGH, PA - The GW Men's Tennis team dropped its second match in as many days to Xavier, 4-3, on Saturday, March 29 in Pittsburgh, PA. The one-point loss dropped the Colonials record to 8-6. GW got singles victories from junior Matt Hane (Walterboro, SC/Porter-Gaud School) and sophomore Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central). Hane increased his winning streak to 11 with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number one. Treadgold got back to his winning ways with a 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-1 win at number two. The Colonials won the doubles point with wins by the teams of Hane and senior Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) and Treadgold and sophomore Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny). Hane and Warner won at number one, 8-5, and Treadgold and Jopling pulled out a tough win at number two, 9-8(7). The Colonials will look to get back in the win column when they take on St. Bonaventure on Saturday, April 5 in Washington, DC.
