Men's Tennis Makes It Four Straight, Defeating St. Bonaventure, 5-2

OLEAN, NY - The George Washington men's tennis team extended its winning streak to four and have won 11 out of their last 13 after defeating St. Bonaventure, 5-2, on Saturday, April 3. Senior Matt Hane (Walterboro, SC/Porter-Gaud) won his ninth straight singles match after defeating nemesis, Mario Arce, at number one singles, 6-4, 6-3. Junior Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) won his 14th singles match of the season with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) victory at number three.

The Colonials won four of the six singles matches and took the doubles point thanks to victories by the teams of Hane and Jopling and junior Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) and freshman Daniel Balke (Portage, MI/Portage Northern).

GW will spend the next week preparing for the Atlantic 10 Tournament to be held from Friday, April 9 to Sunday, April 11 in Pittsburgh, PA.
