Men's Tennis Downs Georgetown on Thursday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis team downed cross-town rival Georgetown on Thursday afternoon, 4-2.

The Colonials (15-6) won four singles matches in straight-set fashion to come away with the triumph.

Senior Julius Tverijonas shut out his No. 1 opponent and junior Chris Reynolds downed his No. 2 foe. Junior Christos Hadjigeorgiou and freshman William Tutecky rounded out GW's wins at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively.

Doubles was not played on Thursday afternoon.

The Colonials close the regular season on Saturday with a Senior Day match against Fordham at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus beginning at 3:30 p.m.
