TULSA, OK - The GW doubles tandem of Ugur Atalay and Erik Hannah fell to Virginia's Alex Domijian and former International Tennis Federation (ITF) No. 2 junior in the world, Jarmere Jenkins, 8-3, in the second day of the qualifying doubles bracket of the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championship on Wednesday afternoon.

"We played great but needed to play perfect. We had to serve better," said head coach Greg Munoz. "It was a winnable match, as we were able to break back at 2-4 but lost serve after being up 40-15. The opportunities were there but we let them slip away."

The Colonials' duo defeated the No 37-ranked doubles team from Arkansas, 8-3, and Boise State, 8-5, on Tuesday to advance to face the No. 49-ranked opponents from UVa.

"With a big serving team like that you have to hold serve better," said Munoz. "It was a great run and we look forward to a strong showing at ITA Regionals on Oct. 20."

The men's tennis squad is set to play in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, MD, Oct. 8-10, prior to the USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional Championship in Charlottesville, VA, Oct. 20-24.
