GW Men's Tennis Completes Three-Day UVA Fall Classic

Junior Viktor Svensson finished sixth in Blue Singles at the UVA Fall Classic on Sunday.

 – The George Washington closed out the three-day UVA Fall Classic on Sunday inside the Boar’s Head Sports Club with Blue, Orange and Black Singles action.

Junior Ulrik Thomsen won the consolation draw of the Orange Singles bracket with an easy victory over recently added Atlantic 10 member VCU’s Dylan McCloskey by set scores of 6-4, 6-2.

Senior Leonardo Lapentti dropped a close 6-3, 7-5 third-place match to William & Mary’s Anton Andersson to finish fourth in the Blue Singles bracket. After advancing to the fifth-place match in Black Singles, junior Viktor Svensson fell to Matt Berry of Penn State, 6-1, 6-2.

The Colonials return to the court in Charlottesville, Va., on Thursday, Oct. 18 for the six-day Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional.
