Men's Tennis Beats Georgetown for the Third Year in a Row

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University's men's tennis team defeated cross-town rival, Georgetown, for the third year in a row, 5-2, on Friday, October 10. The Colonials picked up all five points in singles competition, while senior Matt Hane (Walterboro, SC/Porter-Gaud School) and junior Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) continued an undefeated fall season in doubles play. Despite windy conditions, GW tallied singles victories from Hane, Treadgold, sophomore Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny), sophomore Marius Weigert (Hamburg, Germany/ESI International Academy) and senior Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison). The Colonials will finish their fall season when they participate in the Omni Hotel Tournament from Thursday, October 16 to Saturday, October 18.
