Men's Tennis Tops Georgetown, 5-2
Colonials win four-of-six singles matches

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's tennis team defeated Georgetown, 5-2, on Friday, Oct. 8, at the Mount Vernon Tennis Complex to earn its first dual-match victory of the season.
GW won two-of-three matches to earn the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead. Seniors Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY) and Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA) teamed at No. 1 to defeat Erik Bildman and Alex Wright, 8-6, while freshman Elliott Daniels (Hilton Head, SC) and senior Daniel Raisbeck (Bogota, Colombia) topped Andrew Clayton and Scott Maucher, 9-8(6), at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, the Colonials won four-of-six matches all in straight sets to seal the victory. Treadgold defeated Scott Faust at No. 1, 6-3, 6-3, while Jopling breezed by Kevin Killeavy, 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. Elliott Daniels was victorious at No. 4, posting a 6-4, 6-4 win over Etienne Paris, and junior Will Timmons (Greenville, SC) was also a winner at No. 5 with a 7-5, 6-3 triumph over Thedore Tywang.
The Colonials return to action this weekend when they travel to Norfolk, VA, on Friday, Oct. 15 for the ODU Invitational.
