NORFOLK, VA - George Washington men's tennis captured three separate titles at the Hampton Roads Invitational, a three-day tournament held over the weekend on the campus of Old Dominion.

GW senior Mustafa Gencsoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Ayazaga Isik) won the A-Flight Singles championship and sophomore Ryan Hunter (Weston, FL/Pine Crest) took the C-Flight Singes title. The two then paired up to claim the B-Flight Doubles championship as well.

Gencsoy, improved his record this fall to 8-2 overall, including 5-2 in tournament play, has been granted the sixth seed in the main draw at this weekend's ITA Northeast Region Tournament, at Princeton, NJ.

Other results from the weekend's action at ODU included Sam Salyer (Minneapolis, MN/St. Paul Academy) advancing to the quarterfinals of the A-2 Flight, where he lost to the flight's champion, Eldy Igarashi, 7-6(1), 6-1. Salyer will make his first regional qualifier appearance later this week. Also, Bryan Beasley (Weston, FL/Pine Crest) teamed with Maxx Wattenberg (Brookville, NY/Jericho) to advance to the finals of the C-Doubles flight, winning two matches, 8-4 and 9-7.

Later this week, GW travels to Princeton for the ITA Northeast Region Tournament, held October 18-23. Freshman Erik Hannah (Sterling, VA/Laurel Springs, CA) gets the seventh seed in the qualifier and Utah transfer sophomore Ryan Schalchter (Dallas, TX/The June Shelton School/Utah) makes main draw doubles with Gencsoy.
