Men's Tennis Fall to ODU, William & Mary in Weekend Play

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Colonials faced Old Dominion and William & Mary in the opening weekend of the 2009 season. It was sophomore transfer Arya Vayghan who came up with the only victory against ODU at No. 6 singles, defeating Krzysztof Muzalewski 6-2, 7-5. ODU defeated the Colonials 6-1.

Vayghan carried his momentum into his No. 6 singles match-up against William & Mary, defeating Ilja Orre, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0. Freshman Ugar Atalay defeated Marwan Ramaden in No. 2 singles, 7-6(4), 3-6, 1-0.

Colonials No. 3 doubles duo of Yan Levinski and Chris Kushma defeated William & Mary's Varun Pandit and Ilja Orre 8-2. William & Mary defeated Colonials 5-2.

The Colonials host East Carolina University Jan. 23 at the Montclair Country Club in Woodbridge, VA, at 1 p.m.
