James Madison Blanks George Washington, 7-0

WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 29) -- James Madison swept the George Washington University men's tennis team, 7-0, in the Colonials' season-opener today at Montclair Country Club.

The most exciting action for GW (0-1) came in doubles competition, wher two of the three matches were decided by tiebreakers. Kevin Wright and Mike Stein paired at No. 2 Doubles and lost a 9-8 (4) decision to Andrew Lux and Troy Stone. Kinzie Wright and Jon Davidson fell in No. 3 Doubles to Adriaan Wintermans and Miko Hendricksen, 9-8 (5).

Kinzie Wright was the only Colonial to win a set in singles play, falling 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 4 singles position to Hendricksen.

GW returns to action Friday, Feb. 4, with an 8:00pm contest against Old Dominion in Newport News, VA.
