WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University senior Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week after leading GW to consecutive victories last weekend, the conference office announced on Monday, Feb. 7. The Colonials improved to 4-2 on the season as they defeated Howard, 6-0, on Friday, before handing Navy its first loss, 5-2, on Saturday.

Playing at No. 1 singles for the Colonials, Jopling topped Kenneth Brown of Howard, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Friday as GW blanked the Bison. Jopling kept his momentum rolling on Saturday as he posted a straight-set 6-4, 6-3 victory over Brandon Carter of Navy to help the Colonials earn their fourth win of the season.

In doubles, Jopling teamed with freshman Mustafa Genscoy (Istanbul, Turkey) and the pair went 1-1 on the week. The tandem earned their triumph over Brown and Brandon Smith of Howard, 8-5, at the top spot.

Jopling shares this week's A-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor with Andrew Hart of St. Bonaventure, who went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play for the Bonnies.

GW (4-2) is back on the courts when they travel to College Park, MD, on Friday, Feb. 11, to face ACC member Maryland at 2:30 p.m.
