Sam Salyer Earns Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week Honors

Feb. 14, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University freshman Sam Salyer (Minneapolis, MN/St. Paul Academy) has earned Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks, the conference office announced on Monday, Feb. 14. Salyer's accolade marks the third straight week a GW men's tennis performer has either earned conference player or rookie of the week honors.

Salyer teamed with senior Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY) at No. 3 doubles in the Colonials' match with Maryland on Feb. 11 and the pair improved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-7 victory over Dave Reichsfeld and Josh Brauser.

GW (4-3) returns to action when it hosts Dayton on Friday, Feb. 18, at 12:30 p.m. at the Montclair Country Club in Montclair, VA.
