Men's Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed at A-10 Championship
March 31, 2008 WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington (12-9, 7-1 A-10) has been awarded the No. 1 seed in the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship, set to begin Friday, April 4, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA. With the top-seeding comes a first-round by. GW will open the tournament at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, and will face off against the winner of the No. 9 Dayton/No. 8 Rhode Island match, which is set to take place at 8:00 a.m. that day. In their regular season meeting, GW cruised past the Flyers, 7-0, on Feb. 16. The Colonials did not play Rhode Island this year. The championship game is set for Sunday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. In last year's A-10 Championship, GW went 2-1, defeating St. Bonaventure to earn 3rd place in the tournament. The Men's Tennis Committee selected the tournament's seeding early Monday afternoon, taking into consideration head-to-head competition and significant wins, among other qualifiers.
