April 2, 2007
WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington (6-10, 3-3 A-10) has been awarded the third seed in the 2007 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship, set to begin Thursday, April 5th, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA.
The Colonials will open the tournament at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5th, and will face off against the winner of the #6 Dayton/#11 Rhode Island match. In their regular season meeting, the Flyers snuck past GW, 4-3, in Dayton, OH. The Colonials did not play Rhode Island this year.
The championship game is set for Saturday, April 7th, at 11:00 a.m.
In last year's A-10 Championship, GW went 1-3, defeating Duquesne in their opening round match.
The Men's Tennis Committee selected the tournament's seeding early Monday afternoon, taking into consideration head-to-head competition and significant wins, among other qualifiers.
