WASHINGTON- George Washington men's tennis player Chris Kushma has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Performer of the Week on Monday, the league office announced Monday.

The New York native heads into post-season play with a six-match winning streak at No. 3 singles after helping the Colonials go 3-0 in weekend play. Kushma won all three of his singles matches in straight sets.

Kushma, paired with Erik Hannah, has also started a hot streak in No. 1 doubles. The duo was victorious over James Madison's formally nationally ranked duo 9-8, to help secure the crucial doubles point in the 5-2 team win. They also won 8-2 over Howard and 8-4 over Longwood.

Kushma and the Colonials head to the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championships beginning Friday, April 16. GW's first round opponent has yet to be announced.
