NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – George Washington men's tennis sophomore Francisco Dias and freshman Danil Zelenkov swept this week's Atlantic 10 awards with Dias earning Performer of the Week and Zelenkov being named Rookie Performer of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.

Both Dias and Zelenkov went undefeated in singles and doubles play to help then-No. 67 GW to a perfect 3-0 weekend and extend its winning streak to eight matches. The eight consecutive victories, which dates back to March 16, are the most in seventh-year head coach Greg Munoz’s tenure.

The weekly nod marks the first of the season for Dias, who was named Rookie Performer of the Week four separate times in 2012 and earned both the A-10’s Most Outstanding Performer and Most Outstanding Rookie Performer accolades. Zelenkov picks up his fourth straight weekly award and sixth this season, marking the most weekly honors given to an A-10 men’s tennis freshman in a season since 1999.

Dias went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, with one unfinished match, and 3-0 in doubles over the weekend. Zelenkov earned a 2-0 mark in both singles and doubles, with two unfinished matches, as GW earned consecutive victories over Charlotte (5-1), Longwood (4-0) and Radford (4-0), all on the road.

Dias, a Lisbon, Portugal product, has won seven of his last nine finished matches, and has teamed with doubles partner Leonardo Lapentti for a perfect 15-0 mark this season.

Zelenkov is now on an eight-match singles winning streak, while he and Nikita Fomin are on a six-match doubles winning streak.

The 70th-ranked Colonials look to defend their 2011 and 2012 Atlantic 10 titles at the 2013 A-10 Championship, held from April 25-28 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
