Men's Tennis Secures Doubles Title at Joe Hunt Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The George Washington men's tennis team saw success on day two of the Joe Hunt Invitational, securing the A flight Doubles Title with two GW pairs set to play in the final match on Sunday.

Seniors Chris Fletcher and Christos Hadjigeorgiou advance in doubles competition after defeating Navy's Greg Durham and Zach Jennings, 6-4, in the semifinal round. The pair will go head-to-head with fellow teammates Chris Reynolds and Jakub Behun, who defeated Thomas Sevel and Alberto Casas from Temple, 7-6, to move on to the final matchup. With two GW pairs in the final round, the Colonials are guaranteed to take home the A Flight doubles title.

In singles play, Christos Hadjigeorgiou led the Buff and Blue, defeating Temple's Uladzimir Doorash, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, to advance to the B Flight singles final.

Fellow senior Chris Fletcher put up a fight in the A Flight singles semifinal round against Temple's Thomas Sevel, but ultimately fell short, while freshman Amlan Sahoo notched his first career victory as a Colonial, coming up on top against Mary Washington's Ryan Berry.
