WASHINGTON, DC - Junior Brett Warner (Vienna, VA/James Madison) and freshman Tim Rogers (Newtown, PA/Council Rock) recovered from an opening-round loss to string together three victories on their way to winning the Consolation Draw B Finals at the Metro Championships, Sept. 27-30. Rogers also performed very well in singles competition by reaching the finals of the consolation bracket for Draw C as well as winning two matches as a Draw B fill in. Warner added two singles victories in Draw B to his total before losing in the quarterfinals.

GW's representatives in Draw A, Matt Hane (Walterboro, SC/Porter-Gaud School), Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Catholic) and Marius Weigert (Hilton Head, SC/ESI International Academy), had a tough tournament recording four victories combined, but, according to Coach Tom Hawkins, "The experience will allow us to evaluate what we need to work on as we prepare for the spring season. It was a positive tournament for us."

The team's other victories came from sophomore Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) and freshman Jason Sucoll (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury), who each managed two victories in Draw B, and freshman Joe Weissfeld (Akron, OH/Firestone) who had two victories in Draw C.
