GW Men's Tennis Sends Fomin, O'Connor and Svensson to UVa Fall Classic

UVa Fall Classic Complete Draws

WASHINGTON – George Washington men’s tennis will send a trio of student-athletes to the UVa Fall Classic this weekend. The tournament will run Fridaythrough Sunday at the Cavaliers’ Snyder Tennis Center, with play beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

Seniors Nikita Fomin and Viktor Svensson and rookie Daniel O’Connor will all compete in singles action throughout the three-day event, and Fomin and Svensson will team up for doubles.

The tournament will feature seven singles flights and seven doubles flights.  GW is one of 21 schools to have players competing along with Binghamton, Bucknell, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Cornell, East Tennessee State, George Mason, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Norfolk State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Princeton, Radford, host Virginia, VCU, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and William & Mary.

Fomin and Svensson will kick off Friday with Orange Doubles action and will face the duo of Ben Guthrie and Damon Niquet of William & Mary at 9 a.m. Fomin will then take on Charleston’s Crescente Lesser in Orange Singles at 10:30 a.m. while Svensson’s Black Singles match pits him against Harry Kelleher of Longwood, also at 10:30 a.m. In the Green Singles draw, O’Connor will match up with Charleston’s Josh Record at 12 p.m.
