Men’s Tennis Set for ITA Atlantic Region Championships

SERVING FIRST: The George Washington men’s tennis squad is set to compete at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships hosted by Liberty at the Cook Tennis Center and Hersey-Esbenshade Tennis Courts.

COLONIALS COMPETITION: The ITA Atlantic Region includes schools located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C. GW and host Liberty will be joined by representatives from Delaware, Duquesne, Georgetown, George Mason, Hampton, James Madison, La Salle, Liberty, Longwood, Morgan State, Mount St. Mary’s, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Richmond, Saint Joseph’s, Temple, Virginia, VCU, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary.

SET FOR SINGLES: Chris Fletcher, Chris Reynolds, Christos Hadjigeorgiou, Dennis Afanasev, William Tutecky, Jakub Behun, and Jabari Stafford will all represent the Colonials in the singles main draw.

PERFECT PAIRS: Doubles pairs for the weekend are Stafford/Tutecky, Fletcher/Hadjigeorgiou, and Reynolds/Behun.


  • Thursday – Two rounds of qualifying singles beginning at 11 a.m.
  • Friday – Doubles round of 64; Singles round of 128 (9 a.m. start with doubles first)
  • Saturday – Doubles round of 32 and round of 16; Singles round of 64 (9 a.m. start with doubles first)
  • Sunday – Doubles round of eight; Singles round of 32 and round of 16 (9 a.m. start)
  • Monday – Doubles semifinal and final; Singles quarterfinals (10 a.m. start)
  • Tuesday – Singles semifinal at 10 a.m. with finals to follow
