George Washington senior Megan Hogan won the A-10 Championship handily on Saturday morning, blowing past the field by 400 meters. She finished with a time of 18:37.8, nearly a full minute ahead of Charlotte's Amanda Goetschius who finished with a time of 19:33.3.

On the men's side, Cartica finished 22nd overall with a time of 26:00.20 in the 8K run and junior Zach Borenstein was the next Colonial to cross the finish line in 29th place with a time of 26:29.80. Junior Andrew Zahornacky also finished strong for the Colonials with a 34th place finish in a time of 26:38.20.

The 2009 George Washington Men's Cross Country team opened their 2009 season on Friday afternoon on the campus of Mount St. Mary's College and ran strong for a third place finish among the six competing schools. Junior Andrew Zahornacky paced the Colonials with a time of 16:03.77, which was good enough for 11th place in the meet and fellow junior Zach Borenstein was right behind with a time of 16:11.94 to finish 15th place.

The George Washington Colonial Cross Country team was back in action Saturday at the Navy Invitational and was paced by a new face on the team. Transfer Megan Hogan, who has impressed since she arrived in Washington, DC, finished her 8k run with a time of 22:53.01, earning fourth place. This was Hogan's first-ever Division I race. The Colonial women finished eighth out of 15 teams at the meet.

The George Washington University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams opened up both of their respective seasons Friday afternoon in the Mt. St Mary's 5K Duals on the campus of Mt. St. Mary's. Sophomore Andrew Zahornacky (Pleasantville, NY/Byram Hills) paced the men's team with a time of 17:18:01 on the men's side and true freshman Emily Foster (Brentwood, NH/Exeter) led the way on the women's side with a time of 21:17:93.
