Ashley Campbell is in her second season as assistant coach of the GW Cross Country teams.
Campbell, a 2011 graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, served as captain of the Terrapins' cross country team from 2008-11. She concluded her career with a 56th-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, following a 47th-place finish at the event in 2009. Among her career highlights are a fifth-place finish at the UMES Lid-Lifter (2009) and ninth-place finishes at both the Wolfpack Invitational and the Great American Festival in 2009.
Campbell also excelled in the classroom at Maryland, as she was recognized on the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll (2008-11) and Dean's list (2007-10). Additionally, she was a UMD Scholar-Athlete from 2007-11 and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2009-11.
A native of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Campbell was a member of consecutive New York State Championship teams in 2004 and 2005 as a stand-out harrier at Saratoga Springs High School. She also led the team to the Nike Team National Championship in 2004 and followed that performance with a second-place finish in 2005.
