GW Men's Cross Country Takes Third Place at Seagull Opener

SALISBURY, Md. - The George Washington men's cross country opened the 2012 season on Saturday morning at the Seagull Opener, taking third place out of 10 competing teams.

A very warm and humid morning made for tough conditions at Winter Place Park.

The Colonials registered four top-20 finishes, led by sophomore John Louis-Pane. Pane navigated the 8,000-meter course in 27:13 for a 14th-place finish out of 116 total runners. Pane's time was just over a minute behind the top finisher.

Pane was followed by the trio of freshman Kyle Ames (17th, 27:21), senior Alex Dadds (18th, 27:26) and freshman Ryan Tucker (20th, 27:34).

Junior Marco Siragusa followed in 29th place, finishing with a time of 28:07. Sophomore John Perrino rounded out the Colonials harriers, finishing in 28:52 for 54th place.

Navy took first place in the team portion of the event while John Carroll University finished in second place.

The Colonials return to action on Sept. 15 at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
