GW Men's Cross Country Set for Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The George Washington men's cross country team will be one of eight competing teams at Saturday's Navy Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club.

The 8,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. The Colonials will face a tough field that features teams ranked first through seventh in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region Preseason Poll.

The Colonials will face Princeton (No. 1), Georgetown (No. 2), Villanova (No. 3), American (No. 4), Penn State (No. 5), La Salle (No. 6) and the host Midshipmen (No. 7).

Last season the Colonials finished in sixth place out of seven teams with then-senior Alex Dadds leading the team with a 29th-place finish.

GW finished in second place overall at last weekend's Catholic Invitational. Sophomore Ryan Tucker tallied his second consecutive top-six finish with a fifth-place finish to lead the Colonials. The freshmen duo of Jordan Pantalone (11th) and Seamus Roddy (14th) each notched top-15 finishes.

Following the Navy Invitational the Colonials will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Paul Short Invitational on October 5.
