PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 30) -- Senior Jeff McCarthy (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) concluded the Fall season with a strong showing at the Bell Atlantic-Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships with a seventh place finish in 25:37.9. Virginia Tech's Chris Seaton placed first in 25:01.0. Freshman David Talbird (Lookout Mountain, TN/McCallie School) placed 50th with a time of 27:06.1.

The men's squad finished 10th with 224 points. La Salle won the championship with 35 points.

On the women's side, St. Joseph's Christine Kane placed first with a time of 17:59.7. Senior Julie Ann Laurance (Plymouth, MN/Hopkins) placed a team-high 42nd for the Colonials at 20:05. Overall, Massachusetts won the women's championship with 44 points. GW placed 10th with 267 points.
