WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's cross country team heads to Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., on Saturday to compete in the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship.

The 8,000-meter race begins at approximately 10 a.m. and will be live streamed (weather permitting) for free on the A-10 Digital Network.

Five of the 14 competing teams are currently ranked in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings. Defending A-10 champion La Salle is No. 4 in the Mid-Atlantic region, joined by Saint Joseph's (7th) and Duquesne (12th). George Mason and Richmond are each ranked in the Southeast Region at Nos. 14 and 15, respectively.

GW, which finished 13th last fall, posted its best finish in the conference championship meet with consecutive fifth-place finishes in 2001 and 2002. GW's top individual finish at the event was 1994 when Eric Woronick took third place overall, followed by teammate David Sawyer in fifth place.

Projected Lineup

Ryan Tucker (22:55 PR) - GW's top performer in 2013, Tucker has registered four top finishes for the Colonials this season, highlighted by a fifth-place showing at the Catholic Invitational (8K, 19:32) ... also finished in top 10 at the Mount St. Mary's Duals (5K, 16:06) and the Leopard Invitational (8K, 22:55) ... second career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championships (60th place, 27:06 as a freshman).

Jordan Pantalone (26:43 PR) - Freshman has appeared in all five races in debut season ... two top-15 finishes, finished in 13th at the Mount St. Mary's Duals (5K, 16:34) and 11th at the Catholic Invitational (6K, 20:02).

 

 

Seamus Roddy (26:45 PR) - Has competed in all five races in debut season at GW ... finished in 14th place overall at both the Mount St. Mary's Duals (5K, 16:34) and the Catholic Invitational (6K, 20:21).

Tyler Gillies (27:33 PR) - Making third career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championship, best finish was 109th as a freshman ... has appeared in four races this season with best finish coming at the Catholic Invitational (6K, 24th place - 20:55).

Kyle Ames (26:10 PR) - Has appeared in three meets this season ... finished in 26th place at Catholic Invitational (6K, 20:55) ... second career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championship, finished in 78th as freshman (27:32).

Marco Siragusa (27:35 PR) - Has appeared in one race this season, taking 29th place at the Mount St. Mary's Duals (17:20, 29th) ... second career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championship after finishing in 106th as a freshman (27:42).

Jack McCabe (27:22 PR) - Saturday marks his third career collegiate competition.
