KINGSTON, R.I. - George Washington's men's and women's indoor track team wrapped the first day of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon at Mackal Field House.

The highlight of the day was the men's Distance Medley Relay. The quartet of Colin Wills, Chris Shaffer, Ed Delavergne and Carter Day won the event in dominant fashion. The team registered a time of 9:56.46, a mark which shattered the previous program record (10:08.63), Atlantic 10 record (9:57.64, 2014) and facility record (9:57.64, Saint Joseph's in 2014).

Additionally, Chris Shaffer's mile split of 4:08.93 was the fastest in Atlantic 10 history for the DMR.

The A-10 Championship continues on Sunday with Colonials' athletes competing in mile, 3000-meter run and 4x800m relay.
