Men's XC Places Second at William & Mary Invite

Graduate student Matt Lange was GW's top finisher of the day for the second straight meet after placing fourth overall on Friday.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The George Washington men's cross country team returned to action on Friday evening and placed second overall out of seven competing teams at the William & Mary Invitational at the Eastern State Course.

Notes

  • Graduate student Matt Lange recorded his second consecutive top-team finish by placing fourth overall in 18:40.29.
  • Senior Carter Day was also in the top 10, finishing eighth overall in 18:54.63.
  • All of GW's performances were personal records by virtue of the unusual men's collegiate cross country distance.

    "Matt Lange and Carter Day paced the team well over 6K where the one through five split was a mere 35 seconds. Overall, everyone competed well in the hot weather, especially freshman Jackson Cronin, who finished in the top seven to score for us."
