Men's XC Runs to Second Place at Paul Short Invite

LEHIGH, Pa. - Graduate student Matt Lange registered his third consecutive top-five finish and a trio of Colonials harriers posted new personal records for the 8,000-meter distance on Friday afternoon as the George Washington men's cross country team placed second overall at the Paul Short Invitational.

Notes

  • The Colonials finished second out of 20 competing teams in the Paul Short Invitational College Brown Race.
  • Graduate student Matt Lange was GW's top performer for the third time this season. He finished second overall out of 152 competitors with a time of 24:27 for his third top-five finish this season.
  • Lange's time was six seconds behind the winning time.
  • Three of GW's six entries posted personal records for the 8,000-meter distance.
  • Senior Andrew Weber finished 10th overall with a new PR of 25:18, 12 seconds faster than his previous best time.
  • Senior Chris Shaffer shaved over a minute off of his previous PR by finishing in 25:23 to claim 14th place.
  • Sophomore Colin Wills finished in 19th place with a time of 25:31, 14 seconds better than his previous record from 2015.
