Men's Cross Country Finishes 10th at A-10 Championship

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - The George Washington men's cross country team placed 10th out of 14 competing teams at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship at Pole Green Park on Saturday morning.

Junior Ryan DePinto led the Colonials with a 27th place finish out of 123 finishers with a time of 25:33.5. DePinto was joined in the top-50 of the race by seniors Jordan Pantalone who crossed the finish line in 48th in 25:57.6 and Seamus Roddy (50th in 25:56.9).

"Ryan ran well today and really improved on his previous finishes here," said Head Coach Terry Weir. "This performance gives us something to build upon as we try to move up in the standings in future years."

Also finishing for the Colonials were junior Charles Arnold (69th, 26:18.9), freshman Colin Wills (70th, 26:19.0), junior Carter Day (78th, 26:30.7), junior Trevor Sye (80th, 26:31.8), freshman Jon Doolong (92nd, 26:48.0), senior Anthony Ruiz (97th, 27:05.0) and sophomore Andrew Weber (104th, 27:26.5).

Arnold joined DePinto in having a career best A-10 Championship performance on Saturday.



Duquesne junior Rico Galassi was the top overall finisher in 24:32.3, while Dayton took the team title with 57 points. The Flyers were followed by Duquesne (77), Saint Louis (85), Mason (102), Saint Joseph's (130), La Salle (165), Davidson and Fordham (184), Massachusetts (198), GW in 10th (254), Richmond (289), Rhode Island (317), VCU (400) and St. Bonaventure rounding out the field (463).
