Track Earns Three Medals on Final Day of A-10 Indoor Championship

KINGSTON, R.I. - George Washington men's and women's track teams wrapped the 2018 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championship on Sunday afternoon at Mackal Field House.

The men's team earned a total of three medals with a pair gold-medal performances, the first individual medals in program history following Saturday's gold-medal showing by the Distance Medley Relay team.

Sophomore Colin Wills (gold) and senior Chris Shaffer (bronze) both medaled in the mile, with Wills setting a new program record with a time of 4:09.29. Shaffer's third-place performance of 4:09.74 was also a two-second improvement on his previous program record from earlier this winter.

Senior Carter Day also made history with his gold-medal effort in the 3000m. His time of 8:18.93 was a new program record by nearly six seconds (Ryan Tucker - 8:24.75 in 2015-16).

On the women's side, junior Halley Brown and senior Lauren t'Kint de Roodenbeke both registered top-ten performances in the mile. Brown finished in 5:03.28 while t'Kint crossed in 5:03.40.
