Cross Country Reveals Fall Schedule
Colonials in action at five meets ahead of the Atlantic 10 Championship
WASHINGTON - George Washington cross country head coach Terry Weir has announced that the Colonials are confirmed for five regular-season meets ahead of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship.
For the third straight season, GW will kick off its fall schedule at the Mount St. Mary's Duals in Emmittsburg, Maryland, on Friday, September 1.
At last season's Duals, the men's squad swept the field, aided by a quartet of top-10 finishes, to go undefeated (4-0) at the event for the first time in program history. The women's squad also enjoyed a successful season debut, going 4-2 with Miranda DiBiasio finishing in second place overall for the second straight season.
Two weeks later the Colonials head south to Williamsburg, Virginia, for the William & Mary Invitational on Friday, September 15.
After an idle weekend, GW will have a busy two days on September 29-30 with the men's and women's teams in action at both the Paul Short Invitational (Friday, Sept. 29 - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) and the George Mason Invitational (Sat., Sept. 30 - Leesburg, Virginia).
GW wraps the regular season at the Penn State National Open on Friday, October 13 in State College, Pennsylvania.
The 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship will be hosted by George Mason University at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia, on Saturday, October 28.
The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional will be contested at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, November 10.
