Kara McVey is in her third season with the staff at GW after working four seasons as an assistant coach at William & Mary. McVey assists Coach McKeown in all areas of the program, including recruiting, player development and opponent scouting. She also worked with developing the post players, and the Tribe had a player named the 1998 Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, the first time in 10 years a William & Mary player received the award.
McVey was an assistant at Miami (FL) for one season, directing the Hurricanes' scouting efforts and working with the development of the post players. McVey worked from 1992-94 at her alma mater, the College of New Jersey, where she was an assistant during the 1992-93 season and the interim head coach for the 1993-94 campaign. She was an assistant at Lafayette College for a year prior to joining the staff at College of New Jersey.
