At home in the paint, Williams provides an inside presence as a both a scorer and tough rebounder.

As A Junior in 2002-03
Williams raised her play to a new level last season, establishing a career high with a 5.9 scoring average on the season as a reserve, shooting an outstanding 54.3 percent from the floor. Earned the respect of the league when the conference coaches voted her Atlantic 10 Sixth Player of the Year. Williams became a valuable player off the bench, providing dependable source of offense and rebounding at the post position. Sparked a second half run at Saint Jospeh's (1-23-03) hitting 7-7 shots to lead the Colonials to a pivitol road victory. Scored a career high 18 points versus Fairfield (1-4-03). Went 6-6 against Rhode Island (2-2-03).

As a Sophomore in 2001-2002 Key reserve off the bench, Williams set a new career-high with 13 points versus Georgetown in 29 minutes of play...appeared in 24 games, starting in two...grabbed 53 rebounds in 2001-02 for a 2.2 average...averaged 9.3 minutes per contest.

As a Freshman in 2000-2001:
Key reserve off the bench appearing in 22 games for 173 minutes in 2000-2001... set career highs with 10 points and 8 rebounds against Mount St. Mary's (12-17-00)... Scored four points and grabbed six boards against SBU (2-22-01)...played a career high 17 minutes against No. 7 Rutgers, posting 3 points and 4 rebounds.

High School:
Williams averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, per game... 1998 Florida State first runner-up in statewide voting for the Class 1A Player of the Year... the 1997 and 1998 Broward County Class 1A, 2A, 3A Player of the Year... named to the South Atlantic Coast Conference All-Conference 1997 and 1998 teams... MVP of the 1998 Florida Junior Nationals tournament ... 1997 SAAC MVP... two-time MVP of West Palm Beach Christmas Classic... led high school team to 2000 district championship.

Duaghter off Glender and Cephone Williams. Val has one brother, Eric (34). An avid shopper, she would like to someday own her own shoe store.
