Washington D.C. - Courtesy of Saint Louis Sports Information - The Saint Louis Billikens' bid for a second-straight Atlantic 10 win fell short with an 84-46 loss to George Washington on Monday evening.

The Colonials led 4-2 but then reeled off the next 13 points to streak out to a 17-2 lead five minutes into the game. Tyler McIlwraith ended the streak for the Bills to put the score at 17-4. GWU took advantage with its height in the post and grabbed six offensive rebounds en route to shooting over 50 percent in the early going. The Billikens hit four straight free throws, and McIlwraith drained a 3-pointer. She followed up by threading a pass to Heather King for a layup. After another GWU run, Rachel Diener drained a trey from the corner. McIlwraith scored a bucket on a backdoor cut, and Cara Young hit a jumper from the left elbow as the Billikens scored four straight. However, the Colonials stretched out their advantage to halftime.

GWU scored the first basket of the second half, but the Billikens answered with consecutive 3-pointers. McIlwraith sank a trey from the top of the key, and Diener nailed one from the left side two minutes into the second session. Just before the next media timeout, McIlwraith buried her third 3-pointer of the evening. Diener matched her teammate by also hitting her third trey of the evening. The Colonials continued to look inside, and the Billikens were unable to get any closer.

Kenan Cole led four Colonials in double-figures with 20 points. Jazmine Adair paced GWU with 10 rebounds. GW shot 51.6 percent from the field, while the Billikens hurt themselves with 24 turnovers. Tyler McIlwraith led the Billikens with 17 points and six rebounds. Rachel Diener hit three treys en route to nine points.
