ST. LOUIS, MO - Senior Jessica Adair scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and freshman Tiana Myers set a new career-high with 17 points to help George Washington to a 67-62 victory in its first game at Saint Louis' new Chaifetz Arena Saturday afternoon.

Adair, who shot 7-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-9 at the foul line, added three blocked shots to her second double-double in the last three games. Myers finished 8-of-15 from the field to set a new career-high in scoring for the second straight game.

Freshman Tara Booker also finished in double figures with 10 points and senior Antelia Parrish had eight points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals.

GW (15-10, 7-3 A-10) led throughout and by as much as 16 points at 52-36 with 14:45 remaining, but Saint Louis (10-15, 4-6 A-10) rallied to within a possession at 63-60 with 1:38 to play. Myers scored her only basket of the second half - a 15-foot baseline fall-away jumper as the shot clock expired - to help clinch the victory for the Colonials.

SLU again cut the margin to three on a pair of free throws, but senior Yolanda Lavender calmly converted two foul shots with 12 seconds left to help the Colonials stay unbeaten in four all-time meetings against the Billikens.

Myers reached her new career-high by halftime with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting in the opening period to lead GW to a 42-31 advantage at the break. Jessica Adair added 10 points and Parrish had six points and six assists as the Colonials shot 56.3 percent and closed the half with an 18-8 run to grab the 11-point margin.

Billikens' leading scorer Theresa Lisch hit her third 3-pointer to get the hosts within a point, 24-23, with 5:15 to go in the half, but Myers scored seven consecutive points in a span of 50 seconds to ignite the Colonials' spurt.

After Lisch hit a three to open the second half, GW went on a 10-2 run - sparked by a three-point play from Booker - to grab its largest lead at 52-36. The margin remained double digits until SLU crafted a 16-4 run to make it a three-point game, 63-60, at the 1:38 mark.

Lisch finished with a game-high 21 points, Heather King added 14 and Alisha Goodwin scored 10. Amanda Kemezys was 0-for-10 from the field as SLU shot just 34.4 percent (21-of-61), including 10-of-35 from the field in the second half.

GW, which played without senior Jazmine Adair and lost sophomore Erica Rivera to injury with five minutes remaining, improved to 13-0 when leading at halftime and 13-3 when leading in rebounds, topping SLU 42-38 in that category.

The Colonials return to Charles E. Smith Center Wednesday to host Massachusetts at 7:30 pm.
