Top-seeded Temple (25-3)advanced to the semifinals of the 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship with a 61-51 triumph over E#5 Saint Joseph's (7-23). The Owls trailed early, but took its first lead, 12-10, at the 11:19 mark of the opening half and never looked back. A-10 Player of the Year Candice Dupree paced Temple with 12 points.
The 16th-ranked Owls owned a 29-16 advantage at halftime and led by as many as 25 in the second frame. Saint Joseph's ended the game on an 18- 7 to produce the final margin.
Ayahna Cornish led the Hawks with a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds. Saint Joseph's also recorded 11 steals in the game.
