WASHINGTON (AP) - Ugo Oha scored 17 points and had seven rebounds as No. 20 George Washington beat Hartford 70-61 on Saturday night.

Janeka Lopp led the Hawks with 19 points and Hartford hit 8 of 15 3-pointers to keep the game within reach down to the closing minutes.

George Washington (1-0) trailed by as many as eight in the second half, but tied Hartford (0-2) with 5:33 left. George Washington finally broke away with two fastbreak layups by Erica Lawrence to start an 8-2 run and take a 62-55 lead.

Lopp scored 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. When Lopp was on the floor in the first half, Hartford outscored the Colonials 24-13, but two personal fouls kept her on the bench long enough for George Washington to stay close.

A 13-0 run midway through the half put the Hawks in control at 29-22. When Lopp was charged with her second foul with 2:47 remaining in the half, George Washington responded with a 9-0 run, sparked by six points from Elena Vishniakova.
