RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Carisse Moody had 13 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday night to lead No. 10 North Carolina State to a 62-54 win over No. 18 George Washington.
Adeloa Olanrewaju also scored 13 points to help the Wolfpack (3-0) fend off the wild-shooting Colonials.
Erica Lawrence scored 16 points and Elena Vishniakova had 14 to pace George Washington (1-1). The Colonials missed 10 of their final 13 shots in last 8:55.
Lawrence had 12 points in the first half as George Washington took a 32-31 lead by the break.
The Colonials missed their first three shots and turned over four other possessions to start the second half. That cleared the way for Moody, Olanrewaju and Kaayla Chones to each score in a 6-0 run, and N.C. State never trailed again.
George Washington tied the score for the last time at 51 on Lawrence's jumper with 4:20 to play. The Colonials missed their next six shots.
Ahead 56-52 after a putback and free throw by Olanrewaju with 3:06 to play, N.C. State finished by making six of its last eight free throws.
George Washington made just 7-of-28 shots in the second half and finished
20-for-55 (36 percent).
