WASHINGTON (AP) - Ugo Oha had career highs of 25 points and 17 rebounds as No. 21 George Washington defeated Howard 96-45 in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

The Colonials scored their most points in nearly two seasons and the 51-point margin of victory was their greatest since Nov. 27, 1993. Coach Joe McKeown won his 294th game at George Washington - the most for any women's coach in Atlantic 10 history.

George Washington trailed just once at 2-0, and led 50-30 at halftime. In the second half, the Colonials outscored the Lady Bison 46-15, concluding the game with a 37-6 tear over the final 13:24.

Howard shot just 21.9 percent for the game and 13.9 percent in the second half.

Oha was 11-for-15 from the field, and her 17 rebounds were the most by any Colonial since Feb. 2, 1995. Erica Lawrence had 14 points and Cathy Joens 11.

Laura Askew and Asia Petty had 11 points apiece for the Lady Bison.
