Jan. 23, 2005
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Freshman point guard Kimberly Beck was named the Atlantic 10's co-Rookie of the Week on Sunday, January 23. It was the second straight week she has earned the honor, sharing this week's award with Brittany Holterman of Dayton.
Beck has been named the A-10's Rookie of the Week three times this season, tying Rhode Island's Safi Mojidi for the most among conference first-year players. Her three selections are the most by a GW player since Ugo Oha took home the honor five times in 2000-01.
Beck tallied 11 points the Colonials' upset of No. 25 Richmond on Jan. 19 and handed out a game-high seven assists. Against Xavier on Jan. 16, she tied her career high with four rebounds and set a new personal standard with two blocked shots.
Beck leads the Atlantic 10 in assists per game (4.8) and has started 15 of GW's 16 games in 2004-05. She ranks third on the team in scoring at 7.3 points per game.
