Jan. 29, 2018

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington women's basketball senior forward Kelli Prange has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after a pair of standout offensive performances last week.

Monday's honor marks the third weekly award from the conference in Prange's career. She was twice named the Rookie of the Week during her freshman season in 2014-15.

Prange, back to full strength after missing seven games with a concussion earlier this season, turned in a pair of monster performances for the Colonials last week.

On Wednesday against Rhode Island she turned in the highest-scoring performance of any Atlantic 10 player this season when she hit 14-of-17 field goals on the way to 36 points and 13 rebounds (both career-highs) in GW's win over Rhode Island. The point total is the fifth-highest, single-game point total in program history and the most points scored by a GW player since 1998.

She continued to have a hot hand on Saturday against Saint Louis where she hit 6-of-11 field goals for 15 points, along with four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.

For the week she shot 71 percent from the floor (20-of-28), 83 percent from the free-throw line (10-of-12) and averaged 25.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals.
